How TaskRanking scores tools

Score = 50% Fit + 25% Value + 15% Breadth + 10% Availability (each scored 0-10)

Fit (50%): how directly the tool's core job matches the use case. This is an editorial judgment: the five tools for each page are placed in fit order, scored 10, 8.5, 7, 5.5 and 4.

Value (25%): from the vendor's own pricing page, checked 2026-10-13. Some prices were read by hand; the rest were taken from the page text and labeled "as listed". Free tier = 5 points (trial 3, none 2, unverified 2.5), plus 3 if the paid plan starts at $20/mo or less, 2 if at $50 or less, 1 if more, and 1.5 if unknown. Multiplied by 1.25 and capped at 10. Anything we could not confirm is shown as Unverified. Prices change, so always confirm on the linked page.

Breadth (15%): how many TaskRanking use cases the tool fits, as a proxy for maturity: 4 + 2 per use case, capped at 10. Third-party review scores are not yet included.

Availability (10%): 10 if the site loaded for our checker, 7 if it blocked automated access.

Not included yet: recency of updates and user reviews. Sponsorship never affects score or order; sponsored slots are labeled and sit outside the ranking.
